Flame of Provision¶
Service Preparation Workshop¶
A two-day, four-session discipleship curriculum equipping volunteers for service-based evangelism — grounded in Scripture, designed for small groups, and free to use under Creative Commons.
What This Workshop Is¶
The Service Preparation Workshop walks volunteers through the spiritual foundations of Christian service — discovering God-given purpose, listening to the Holy Spirit, seeing others through the eyes of Christ, and stepping into a service-centered life. It is built for:
- Local churches preparing teams for outreach, mission trips, or seasonal service initiatives
- Small groups wanting a four-session curriculum that integrates scripture study, reflection, and ministry planning
- Ministry leaders discipling new volunteers before they begin direct service
- Individuals seeking a structured path from conviction to action
Each session combines a Leader Guide, Group Discussion Prompts, a Ministry Planning Worksheet, and a Reflection Worksheet — designed to work together over two consecutive days or four weekly sessions.
The Four Sessions¶
-
Session 1 — Discovering Your God-Given Purpose
Explore the five God-given purposes — Worship, Fellowship, Discipleship, Ministry, and Mission — and how they shape personal calling.
-
Session 2 — Listening to the Holy Spirit
Learn to recognize the Spirit's voice and respond to conviction with practical, surrendered action.
-
Session 3 — Seeing Through the Eyes of Christ
Adopt the compassionate, humble perspective of Christ toward the people and places that need His love.
-
Session 4 — Living a Service-Centered Life
Build the daily practices that sustain a life of service beyond the workshop.
